JOhn Drendel from Montreal Quebec. I have a question for your podcast. The DNC has given up on Texas for years, despite Beto's narrow defeat in the senate race 6 years ago There is not a lot of polling on the Allred-Cruz race, but an August 21 poll by Houston U put Allred only 2 points behind. What is your intuition regarding Allred's chances ? Have you any thoughts about the criticism from Texas Dems regarding Alred's low-profile campaign style -- he's avoided the all-out rural campaign strategy Beto O'Rourke championed in an attempt to hold down rural margins, in favor of meet and greets in urban centers, while Harris and Walz are following the Beto game plan in Penn and Georgia. Given the dramatic consequences of the Texas abortion ban, shouldn't the presidential campaign make an appearance, if only to highlight nationally the abortion issue and maybe give a push to Allred ? Thanks, John

Seems like an easy layup to remind younger voters about the first weeks of trumps presidency. He didn't really seem to have any idea what he wanted to do, except go after anybody that had anything to do with climate change. And he did that really the whole 4 years. Yet we never hear that at all. Seems like a good issue to put out to the youth vote he seems to. be losing ground on.
