If Democrats don’t take the house and Senate then we have to finally admit that MAGATS are every bit as evil as Trump.

I suggest, however, that we reduce any credit by at least half to any ACLU lawyers whose efforts may be part of the current legal resistance to an over-reaching administration. After all, it was the ACLU that filed an amicus brief in support of the 2010 SCROTUS Citizens United decision that delivered the single, most impactful blow to fair and free U.S. elections since the founding of the Nation. And IMO the ACLU has a long, long way to go in order to make up for that blunder. Cheers!

The ACLU has become nothing but a bunch of beggars. They do stuff when it comes to hot button issues but they’re worthless when it comes to every day Americans and how our rights have been he wrote it away by the same people who donate to them. They’re always sending me shit to my email begging for donations. Why don’t they act like actual civil rights lawyers and earn their Money by taking a percentage when they actually win a case.

The AC sale you are a bunch of whiner quasi liberals who jumped on the LGBTQ bandwagon in order to get publicity. When it comes to liberty and justice for all, the ACLU just doesn’t give a shit. The ACLU is a joke.

Sharp take. The Henry VI reference really lands given how authoritarians habitually target legal checks first. Lawyers as that 'moral oxigen' for resistance makes intuitive sense to me, especially when other instituions fold or hedge. Saw similar dynamics play out in Hungary back in 2018.
