Donald Trump now says that all House Republicans can vote for the measure this week, requiring the Justice Department to release all the files on sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein, a one-time pal of the president. This is a total reversal and it is basically a con job. Quickly review, after three months of Trump instructing House Speaker Mike Johnson to deep-six this resolution, Johnson even refused for 50 days to swear in a newly elected member who would sign a discharge petition forcing a vote.
Finally, he realized there were gonna be over 300 House members voting for it. So he said, let’s release it. Now, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch, Trump’s personal lawyer, interviewed Epstein collaborator and convicted felon, Ghislaine Maxwell and must have set a new record for softball questions, all aimed at exonerating Trump.
She was then sent to a posh prison where she had special privileges. You don’t think maybe a pardon or commutation is on the line. And over the weekend, Trump told Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the Epstein involvement with, not him, not him, but with Bill Clinton and other Democrats. And the obedient attorney general quickly said, yes, sir, whatever you want.
This is a con game. What it is is that if the bill ever gets to Trump, and I think the Senate’s gonna have a hard time resisting it, he’s gonna say, look, I’d love to release these files, but we can’t do it while there’s an ongoing investigation. It is a lie. As I say, it is a con job. And I hope that those victims of Jeffrey Epstein, the women that he preyed on, I hope that they get his public, I mean, they are the victims here. Be public and expose Trump for what he’s doing.
