Trump Playbook On Harris: Play the Race Card

   Kamala Harris, facing ferocious attacks, might check in with Tommy Vallely.

    Tommy , a professor on Vietnam at Columbia University, was a decorated combat Marine in the Vietnam War. He is a longtime friend of John Kerry.

   
   He recalls the euphoria after Kerry, stressing his Vietnam War heroism, won the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004, similar to the Harris high the past ten days. He remembers how  quickly it dissipated when a Republican front group --- Swift vets ---smeared Kerry's war record with effective, though duplicitous, attacks.

  An architect was Chris LaCivita, now co-chair of Donald Trump's campaign. Then, they went after Kerry's integrity and patriotism.

   Racism will be at the core of the assaults against Harris. 

 Republicans are calling her an unqualified "diversity" candidate, Trump raised inane questions about her racial identity, as the dog whistles take off.

   Vallely warns, "it's going to get worse." He'd caution her to strike back but not to get mired in a culture war with the right wing.
