The Regime of Sleaze Trump has pardoned or rewarded January 6 criminals, convicted crypto moguls, a cocaine kingpin, a corrupt congressman, among others. The reward, not a pardon, is taking care of the Tate brothers, pornographers, accused sexual assaulters and rapists, sex traffickers, with a sizable misogynist following.
They were charged in Romania, where they had fled to after Great Britain and forbidden to leave until suddenly the Trump administration early this year passed the word to Romania that relations with the U.S. would be better if the Tate boys are freed so they can fly home and fly to Florida.
The story’s been around for a while, but all the ugly details were in the weekend New York Times story by Megan Toohey, a fabulous investigative reporter, who someday I hope I’ll meet because she’s so good. All the suspect characters you would expect were involved in this gambit. Dirty Trickster, Roger Stone, Rick Grinnell, the manifestly unqualified head of the Kennedy Center, and Don Jr. You know, there’s gotta be money involved here somewhere.
The surprise was the other family member who helped to tape Bros. Barron, the 19-year-old son of Donald and Melania we thought his mother was protecting him from this stuff, but you know, it really is like the Godfather. Michael Corleone, the young military hero, wasn’t eager to get into the family business, the mob, but once he succumbed to that inexorable pull, he became the top Don. Helping disreputable, terrible people like the Tate bros may be a way to get there, Baron. I hope you, I hope not.
