Albert Hunt thank you for this article, our soldiers paid a heavy price for freedom at that time. Our soldiers overcame, with the help of European resistance, the Nazi monsters back then, and we Will overcome the disaster that has taken over The United States of America now

But Ike did not fail, nor did they all. God bless them.

Mr. Hunt,

What a moving tribute to our men. My father served in WWll, on an LST in New Guinea, John J. O’Connell. And my brother John R. O’Connell during Vietnam.

Normandy is also on my bucket list - fingers crossed in the next couple of years.

God bless our service men.

I was there several years ago. It was a very moving and solemn experience.

Gen. Dwight David Eisenhower was a good and modest man, a fine five star general, he led D-Day and was two term president.

He was not perfect. No one is. IKE named Rep. Richard M. Nixon his vice president. He might have chosen Sen. Robert Taft. Tricky Dick failed, lying. He was pardoned by President Jerry Ford. As I recall, Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller was named VP under President Ford with the understanding he would not accept the presidency if President Ford passed.
