In general I try not to assign to malice what could be simple incompetence. NOT IN THIS CASE. Trump and the oligarchs have worked decades to destroy all respect for and reliance upon government. One way is by appointing absurd, bumbling, deluded, malicious stooges to positions of power. Musk, RFKjr, Noem, etc etc.
IT IS INTENTIONAL.
