Love your podcast. Loved the conversation with James Fallows! I grew up in the same town in the Inland Empire that James grew up in. My grandmother was his 5th grade teacher. She constantly said he was he was the smartest student she’d ever had. Because we three grandchildren weren’t measuring up, she invoked James’ performance constantly! When I turned 20, my grandmother bought me a subscription to The Atlantic. She did this only because James Fallows was a writer there. She considered the magazine too progressive to read herself as a staunch Republican.. She renewed that subscription for me each year until she died.. I read everything that James Fallows wrote!
