Here, here, Al. Exactly what I’ve been saying. Sounds like Mamdani shafted Lander by not giving him a cabinet post and instead pushed him to challenge Goldman.

Would’ve expected more from sainted Mamdani. Check your prejudice. Dems eating their own. Again🥱

It’s simple. Mad-mani and his DSA are trying to take over and destroy America as we know it. They're going to metastasize like a cancer on our body politic unless we stop them with massive doses of political chemo, radiation, and radical surgery.

Compelling case for prioritizing investigative competence over ideological purity when facing Trump. The comparison to Waxman and Dingell really underscores how rare genuine investigative skill is in Congress nowadays. I've watched enough of these hearings to know most members just want viral clips, not actual results. That said, the Tlaib censure vote was seriously questionable from a First Amendmnet perspective, dunno how he justified that one.

How about that she’s a Jew-hating, America-hating disgrace to the country?

The war crimes committed by the ultra nationalist ultra right wing government of Israel are not somehow “covered” by the holocaust. Almost none of the 80 thousands Palestinians murdered ( at least two thirds women and children), the 170,000 wounded and the millions left homeless and displaced were not a threat to Israel in any way. Similarly, The settlements are just a war crime. They are not protecting a single israeli, but in fact, endangering EVERYONE, Israeli, Palestinian, and American alike. That’s what war crimes like this do: they lead to endless war.

Your comment is just about as moronic as suggesting that if you are anti Trump, you are anti American.

Al, you sound like an anti-Semite. Not a good look the week of two more atrocities against Jews.

As an ecosocialist this was an r word move on Mandani' s part. Divisive, ill advised. All we need now is someone as seemingly biased as the MAGA madman.

Reality is the real sandpaper on America's soul.

Taxing the rich in one city only sends them fleeing to a cheap one.

Knowing what's possible can help the less fortunate. Free public transport, doable. Government grocery stores unlikely. Tax incentives for grocers would help. Higher minimum wages have been shown to work.

Housing : public, private partnerships, bonds to lower carried interest, etc ...

As an ecosocialist this is all distasteful but it is, at last, realistic.

Mandani, like others on the left, need to set their egos aside, behind the real, achievable, needs of the public.

So, I’ll start by saying, I don’t judge individual people by their ethnicity or nationality. The politics of an entire nation don’t determine the worth or validity of any single person. It’s their own actions and words that do that. Nor do I believe negative or damaging political actions, that are caused by a party in charge, invalidate the worthiness of a nation, its people, or the nations right to exist. Those actions can only invalidate that political groups right to continue to rule. Trump is of course the perfect example. I still love America, and Americans. I’m an American! I loathe Trump and his administration, their actions, and will work to politically shut them down until they are finally shown the door by the American people.

That said, those who are, and have been in charge of Israel for the last few decades, should be harshly judged for their actions, just as Trump will be.

Furthermore, the wild, flailing attempt to equate any criticism of Israel’s government with antisemitism is really becoming pathetic and tired, especially in the wake of its myriad war crimes and calls for mass forced transfer, ethnic cleansing and other atrocities. Mamdani’s massive win in New York is evidence of the public’s awareness of the depravity of the ultra right wing party In Charge of Israel, and the strong desire I think the majority of Americans have to see the US take whatever action is necessary to either see that group removed from power in Israel, or for the US to cut ties and support until they ARE removed from power.

People are also, I think, aware of the illegality of all Israeli settlements (700,000 people and growing ) and the effect their existence has on the hope for peace with Palestinians. Ie, there will NEVER be peace until the war crime of the settlements (perhaps the longest running war crime in modern history) is ended.

The problem with Dan Goldman and people like him (by that I mean blind supporters of Israel regardless of their actions, which has nothing to do with ethnicity and everything to do with politics, Trump and his supporters fit in the same category ) is that he has continually turned a blind eye to the atrocities and sheer scale of the slaughter in Gaza at the hands of a group of radical, ultra right wing settler supporters who nakedly tout their desire to ethnically cleanse Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. People are horrified and disgusted by this, and somehow, he just doesn’t (or pretends not to) get it. He seems happy to blindly keep equating real criticism of Israels government and their actions with antisemitism, even as the voting patterns of a city like New York, including its Jewish population, seem to clearly indicate people are not buying that BS at all anymore. He will also NEVER drill down hard on the settlements and the clear role they play in the intractability of the conflict. Netanyahu et al will never move an inch on these issues (the horror of committed war crimes, and those they are dreaming of) and so it’s very likely the US must cut ties with Israel lest we be painted with the same bloody brush of history that will depict the monstrous regime currently in charge of Israel.

Does Goldman seem like a competent guy? Sure does. Would he be supported by me under normal circumstances? Absolutely. Do you make a good point in saying we need people like him to bring the fight to Trump? Yes. But it’s very, VERY hard, if not impossible, to take him seriously as he tries to gaslight the American public with the premise that we are either with Netanyahu (and the ultra right wing radicals who back him) or we are antisemites. Especially in light of the war crimes Netanyahu et al has and will commit.

What's it going to take to get it through your thick skull, another Holocaust?

Anti-Zionist is code for anti-Semitism, a dog whistle for abject, homicidal Jew hatred.

You're a stooge for Hamas propaganda, transhipped from Moscow through Iran.

This is the predictable outcome of our flawed

You make some interesting points. For one thing, New York politics should be kept separate from those in Israel. Also, to the criticism that Dan Goldman is a wealthy man, San Francisco's mayor, Daniel Lurie, who is doing a fabulous job in bringing back the city to its former glory, is also a Levi Strauss heir. And he has contacts in Silicon Valley. Could that be one reason Trump has not called in the National Guard.

Be patient.

As to billionaires (aka policy failures), only the ones who don't toe the party line are evil in the bizarro Demoverse. JB Pritzker, my governor, for example, gets a pass from the guillotine. Of course, his head’s too fat to get through the hole anyway.

Dying for God, old testament, the Koran has been going on for centuries. It's all about getting the approval and belonging of patriarchies. Do get a grip.

LJB sent us to Vietnam where we killed four million mostly civilians and caused a genocide in Cambodia, another five million minimum.

As millions starve round the world it's religious hierarchies spin up hatred, bias,

fear, and victimhood

Ponder a beautiful child dying of hunger while you get about one religious tribe fighting another. That child and millions like her could give a damn about this centuries old bs.

Peace .
