Al Hunt standing up for democracy, thanks

Hey Al - First, I miss Capital Gang! Second, I think the issue of the left and its impact is inflated and more or less ignores that it doesn't matter how left or not left the most left part of the party is -- the GOP always does this and a lot of time it works even when it isn't true.

I wrote about it here and happy to talk about it any time. But you've been around long enough to know that the Dems could be all DLC 90s centrists and the GOP would still convince a ton of moderates in swing districts that they're commies and maybe even enough to swing some elections. They just would and we all know it.

That said, everyone has to run their race on their policy prescriptions. As long as the party overall is for the same ultimate goal. So, using ICE as a good example here. The goal is to ensure a system where immigrants are treated humanely and people are kept safe. I think we all can agree on that. Now, how you get there? Well, have it out on abolish ICE or reform ICE. That's ok. What's not OK is just an extended intraparty fight from both sides that trashes the other side completely, once the nominees are set in any given race. So best to find the broad brushes of how every nominee in the party coexists and overlaps and then go out together and focus only on the GOP.
